Silver Arm

Based in London, Silverarms are the latest edition to the ever growing Punk scene in the UK. Recording under Big Tea Records, a more recently established label, Silverarms have been harnessing their sound since 2012. Despite their short existence under the name Silverarms, the band are no strangers to critical acclaim with some of Silverarm’s members, previously playing under the Mercury Prize-nominated Maps.

A cross of some Psychedelic mixes and more obvious Punk, Silverarm’s branding feels reminiscent of Fugazi’s more aggressive side, blended together with more modern Punk from Pissed Jeans, and then the occasionally leak of 70’s Psychedelic. Man The Falcons summons Eagulls’ Punk urgency, to thrash around with high velocity guitars, screaming in unison with almost archaic Punk vocals, similar to more recent Heavy Rock greats Blood Red Shoes.

He Of The Slow Creep is Silver Arm’s most recent release, with an obviously clearer sound under Big Tea Records. It situates itself in between Box Of Secrets riding high, favourable, just heavy enough style and even the Indie Rock styles of very early We Are Scientists, especially This Scene Is Dead.

With continuing support from mulitple media fronts, Silver Arm look set to be the next band to take over the emerging Punk scene with bands such as Baby Strange and Darlia, making way for ever more mesmerising Punk for the rest of 2014 and then 2015.

Punk looks set to destroy 2014 thanks to Silver Arm and many more.

  • What can I expect?

Crashing Punk tones blended with modern trepidation.

  • When will they release new stuff?

Their new EP, He Of The Slow Creep was released at the beginning of March (3rd).

  • Where can I find their music?

By their soundcloud down below, and He Of The Slow Creep on YouTube. They are touring soon I believe, so I would recommend going to one of their shows if you can.

  • Will I like them?

If you’re a fan of: Fugazi/Eagulls/Pissed Jeans or even Blood Red Shoes and early We Are Scientists (seriously)
