You don’t know who Jeff Buckley is supposed to be about. I don’t know who Jeff Buckley, is supposed to be about. (You may have some idea, when you hear “Glastonbury hill” though). But what we both know (or what you will soon), is that Moats’ new track Jeff Buckley, is something special. A swarm of killer, psychedelic, fuzz induced effects, trickle between each ear; as the mixture of the slowly pieced bass and breakdown guitar riffs leave a tantalising taste, that quickly becomes addictive, demanding constant replays. The familiar resonance of an impetuous, gargantuan anthem, is one that Moats seem to be mastering lately, with their last two releases, Snakepit and Gas, (Gas being another demo version release), with both tracks proudly eradicating the thought of ‘same’, that many indie bands get stuck in. This could be the track that gets Moats their final, big break, just like Follow Baby scored Peace theirs back in 2012.
Rough E.P is out October. Keep your eyes firmly on it.
