BBC Introducing… Prides

Now with only two weeks until Reading and Leeds Festival 2014, Velvet will be running a week of the BBC Introducing stage’s headliners, and a few other acts. So to start the week, we’ve got one of the three headliners, Prides. (Sunday at Reading, Friday at Leeds). Prides are a Glaswegian, synth pop band who only formed in 2013 and are already making the BBC go crazy for their insatiable pop rhythms. Sounding like a crossover between Chvrches and The 1975, Prides follow in the footsteps of fellow Glaswegian synth pop group Chvrches, with 16 bit electronic board effects, blended together with beautifully presented vocals, that resonate as a more robust, imitation of Matt Healy.

  • Sounds like: The 1975, Chvrches, JAWS.
  • Extra Info: Messiah, is out now as well the bands The Seeds you Sow EP.

You may have heard this already, as it’s on the advert for Glasgow 2014, the lovely, Out Of The Blue (taken from The Seeds you Sow EP)
