Now for the final of the three headliners for the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds Festival, Moko. Now Moko is quite possibly the most exciting headline act this famous stage has had since Jake Bugg. Moko only began early 2013, dropping her debut track, Summon The Strength, and since then, her music (and her hair) has done all of the talking. Her style focuses on drum n bass, mixed together with old school, house beats, that cut away from the 90’s classic, to more modern blends of current post house, even with some minor interferences of jungle/garage music. But the prize jewel of Moko’s mind altering, post, drum n bass fusions is her room silencing vocals. Her traditional, gospel influenced vocals blend effortlessly, with all of her electronic fusions, finally uncovering the missing gem that house music has been looking for since Massive Attack.
- Sounds like: Massive Attack, Chase & Status, Lianne La Havas
- Performing when: READING FRIDAY/LEEDS SATURDAY
- Extra Info: Moko received her quite frankly, huge, break last year when she featured on Chase & Status’ killer track, Count On Me.
