Signed to Blood Red Shoes new label Jazz Life, Centrefold sets the standards for the Brighton based label, somewhat high, as a contrast from previous single Blue Blood, it blatantly breathes rock. It’s showy, self involved and brilliant.
If Yves Saint Laurent thought Cherry Glazerr were the perfect backdrop for his spring/summer launch, then he should definitely be picking Tigercub for autumn/winter. Unapologetically cold and sour faced, Centrefold has the feel of Band Of Skulls’ current style, with classically practised verses that erupt into riff loaded chorus. Chaotic audibly, corruptive and neck breaking, Centrefold is the greatest attribute to the head shaking glory of the 90’s that the 10’s has seen so far.
