Taken from War Room Stories (Deluxe Edition), the latest video from Breton comes from their latest single Parthian Shot.A black silhouette, covered with paint (both black and white) is looped continuously across this 3 and a half minute cult themed track. Reversed and slowed down throughout, the contrast in the colours create an equally intriguing contrast on the traditional style of Breton’s upbeat, indietronica, found on most of their second LP and the rebrand. While conscientiously contained, Parthian Shot contains an underline message that delves into many polysemic strands. Are they broadcasting a wider approach of hidden guises, unravelling the truth underneath (the black silhouette). Or are they simply saying we can make slow singles as well.
Either way, Parthian Shot emits a distinct difference from most of Breton’s back catalogue, in a unique and alluring manner.
