Must for 2015 – Rhodes

Acoustic ballads that transform into wall bursting anthems at the drop of a switch. Rhodes has the method perfected for stardom.

Hertfordshire born, David Rhodes’ blend of soulful pop music, crosses borders with minute intersections of folk influences, now spanning across a total of three EPs. The appearance of Rhodes has emerged almost as quickly as global folk influenced, pop group, Daughter, with Rhodes starting to make waves back in 2013, when he releases his debut EP, Raise Your Love, through Hometown Records. Loaded with heartfelt ballads, spanning across four stunning tracks, including the glorious Run, David’s debut captured his majestic, brilliance found in the young performers soulful lyrics, and ever-expanding pop formations.

Upon Rhodes next two EPs, Home and Morning (respectively), further expenditures of Rhodes soulful, pop ballads graced airwaves, especially with the eponymous Your Soul, a near four minute explosion of pop brilliance. Now it’s not much of a credit nowadays, to say that a track would be expected to explode on an award show (think the Brits), but with the grace and explosive chorus of Your Soul, it’d almost be a lie to yourself, to not expect a reissue, with Your Soul, easily breaking the Top 20 and topping the performance bill of any major award show.

Now with three EP’s to his name, David Rhodes is set to release his stunning debut LP in 2015. Expect an LP that relates to the folk-pop style of Kodaline, with the heart breaking lyrics of early Perfume Genius.
