Doldrums – Hotfoot

Released over two weeks ago, Doldrums’ debut Sub Pop release, is the supercharged, neo-acid electronica we’ve been waiting for from the Canadian.

The first single taken from Doldrums debut LP under Sub Pop, Hotfoot offers a change in direction for Airick Woodhead’s acid-tronica. While remaining reminiscent of Woodhead’s earlier work (think back to I’m Lost In My Head), Hotfoot at first glance is less intricate, focusing more on his vocal layering than ever. When fully immersed in Hotfoot’s ever expanding electronica fusions however, crossovers between acid, house, noisecore and punk provide the ‘sampledelia’, that Doldrums are so closely recognised for. Doldrums second LP, The Air Conditioned Nightmare, is out April 9th through Sub Pop Records.
