Gallant – Open Up

Following on from his Zebra EP released in 2014, Gallant’s latest track Open Up can be summarised as a coalition of SOHN’s deep electro-pop, Erik Hassle’s pop lyrics and Lxury’s post-house rhythms, all combining together with vocals as equally stunning as Frank Ocean’s.

Just as the delicacy in Gallant’s vocals match that of Frank Ocean’s or Sam Smith’s, the lyrics fall equally as graceful, executed perfectly in between harsh electronic buzzes and gentle chillwave influenced synthesisers. In difference to the two pop stars, Open Up’s focus on experimental electronica tones, favourable of London producer’s Halls and James Blake, claims Gallant a spot with the current leaders of pristine vocals and enticing electronica.
