Contrary to common knowledge, you don’t have to be from California to completely nail garage/surf rock.
Toronto works just as well.
It’s the most recent work from Toronto’s Greys, since their debut LP If Anything, from last year’s summer. The Voyeur is meticulous in its approach to garage rock, with the occasional lean towards punk to truly grasp the raw energy that early garage music created. With a swing around surf rock territory, The Voyeur is a perfect track to ignite the energy in the smallest (but the greatest) venues everywhere, fully loaded with sweaty teens who thrash to the destructive guitar riffs of The Greys garage rock.
The Voyeur is from The Greys upcoming EP, titled Repulsion, which is out October 30th, through Carpark Records.
