A certified, cult hit.
There’s something about Deadbeat that feels beyond ethereal. It’s comfortably familiar, yet you’ll never have heard the track until October 30th when it came out. Part Best Coast, part Cherry Glazerr, part Pins, part indie rock/pop bewilderment, it’s an understatement to declare that when Jasmine shared the track, I was immediately blown away.
With a simple enough guitar hook, that turn into a sparkling, indie pop twang in the chorus, that lights up the darkest corners of your minds to a state of lulled sways and gradual head swinging; Jasmine’s musical skills are crafted perfectly with her steady breeze of a vocal, to make Deadbeat into a cool and collected pop hit.
Whether it’s that regular beat, the light electronics or Jasmine’s omnipresent lyrics, there’s something about Deadbeat that is unavoidably, perfect.
