Birch – Halfway

With the delicacy of Birdy combined with the raw energy of early Best Coast; Birch’s Halfway is a post lo-fi dream.

Pop will forever be a never ending source of joy. Face it. It’s much more fun to dance around to a good, simple pop beat than focus for five minutes on a guitar riff and Birch knows that. Halfway utilities the key areas of pop, using fluid transgressions between the steady current of verse and choruses, before breaking for a moment of instrumentation prowess (as well as a good old key change), that produces a comfortable and enjoyable track to sing along to for days and days, even for indie fans that refuse to admit their love of pop.
