Bri Clark – Assertion

Next up on our catch up posts, is Perth based Bri Clark, with her dark-pop track, Assertion.

While everyone else in Australia plays to the melodies of glittery, sun drenched, beach pop; Clark’s focus is almost a complete reverse to the norm of the pop world.

Alternative/dark-pop, Assertion (and Bri Clark’s other tracks as a whole) sounds somewhat like a crossover between Savages and Shunkan, as the harrowing, echoed guitar creates a malevolent punk feel that rises into a decadence of pop, travelling towards The Cardigans onĀ Gran Turismo. The growling guitars master a reverberant isolation, which allows Clark to induce even more volume in her emphatic vocals throughout this heavy hearted, pop-monster.
