Amaroun – Bedbugs

A subtle display from an exciting talent, Amaroun creates a beautiful display of delicacy lost in self-destruction.

An alternative-folk/pop singer from Northamptonshire, Amaroun’s influences are more centred around contemporary indie from the likes of Sharon Van Etten, early War Paint and Beck, than general folk. What Amaroun creates however is much different than her influences.

On Bedbugs, an immediate nod to classic singer/songwriter styles take an immediate turn towards folk, before then diverging into a cross of indie/emo-folk and pop. But while Bedbugs displays an array of styles that all work together beautifully, Amaroun’s voice resonates a sense of power that’s almost too afraid to reach its true potential, which reflects Bedbugs’ lyrics perfectly, making Bedbugs even more captivating.

To celebrate the release of Bedbugs, a gig will be taking place on March 18th at Rye Lane, London, so make sure you get down and show Amaroun some love.
