The closest contemporary similarities to INDIIA fall somewhere between Trails and Ways and NVDES; pop that feeds of the indie energy of earlier groups such as Grouplove. Sunny Day is systematically a chart song that makes no plans on being such, as its effortless fluidity instantly attracts multiple listens, without the risk of fading into the background. Even with the recognisable song structure in current pop music used, INDIIA’s optimism on Sunny Day is enough to put a smile on even the strongest of pop pessimists.
