Liverpool newcomers Paris Youth Foundation put on a miraculous display of indie magic with their second release, Losing Your Love.
The name may sound like some context is needed, but we’ll save that for another time (we don’t know ourselves yet). PYF’s Losing Your Love follows up their debut release, If You Wanna, a math rock tinged guitar overload, but second time around, PYF’s math rock style changes into something completely different.
It’s once you get to the chorus that you’ll realise how much you needed Losing Your Love in your life. The moment that the screeching vortex of guitars, wrapped up in static infused, glossy electronica hits your ears, a thousand memories will come flooding back in, echoing the heights of indie rock towards the end of the 00’s. Think Friendly Fires meeting The Vaccines, while watching the world’s biggest firework display, then you’ll understand why this is a must listen, and the beginning of something huge.
Losing Your Love/If You Wanna is available to pre-order on vinyl here.
They’ve also got a debut headline show at Liverpool’s Buyers Club on 2nd December which is near to selling out already, so get your tickets now if you’re in the Liverpool area!
