The first single from their sophomore LP, Canadian quartet Alvvays give us a dose of 80’s nostalgia with In Undertow.
Now, we might be a bit late to the party on this one, but once you give In Undertow a listen you completely understand why. The Toronto group cast their nostalgia coated lines deeper into the rich history of dream pop, with the accompanying video more than satisfying for any lovers of 80’s styled, shoegaze music videos. Kerri’s opening synth hook immediately opens up the potential for further 80’s influenced dream pop, while Molly’s unquestionable vocal talent remains as effortless as ever, perfectly partnered together with Alec’s precisely executed guitar work that truly marks In Undertow as one of Alvvays strongest tracks to date.
Antisocialites is out September 8th via Polyvinyl (US), Royal Mountain (Canada), Transgressive (Europe) and Inertia Music (Australia).
