If the name isn’t tiring enough to say, Finish Trio, Have You Ever Seen The Jane Fonda Aerobic VHS? will have you gasping for air come the end of their rapid paced, 2 minute single Bambi Act.
If you’re new to this group much like myself, naturally you might ask, why that name? Or, what on earth is the Jane Fonda Aerobic VHS? (the trailer’s down below just FYI). This Finish trio toy around with garage rock, or flower rock as their Soundcloud suggests, utilising keyboards instead of guitars for an intriguing take on the classic gutter-punk sound of garage music.
Bambi Act is a fully charged 2 minute monster, with a story that Ekku Lintunen describes in such a fashion that only his own words could truly make any sense:
A man falls for another man. Man goes for a sex change operation, and now as a woman, charms her beloved; soon, we can hear their wedding bells. Happiness proves to be false, and she’s ultimately rejected. Shocked by this dreadful event, unhappy incidents occur, and through wrong choices she ends up on the street turning tricks with her decaying body.
So if transgenderism and skittish keyboards howling together in a maelstrom of pure delightful fuckery sounds like your version of heaven (or whatever), make sure you press play and then check out the groups 2nd LP, Jazzbelle 1984/1988, out January 19th via VILD.
