The Isle of Wight duo shares another piece of their upcoming LP “The Hard Interchange”, with the enchanting story of ‘Red Star’.
With a welcomed look back at their more traditional folk stylings from “Down Like Gold”, ‘Red Star’ in its comparatively sombre tone, brings a sense of hope and love to Champs sound, in what is an unusual set of circumstances for the duo.
This song is about waiting for the return of an absent loved one. It’s about longing, patience and devotion through trying circumstances.
The challenging narrative of Champs’ past takes a moment to rest, as the Champion brothers craft a lullaby for midnight on ‘Red Star’ which will carry itself across the ocean breeze to their lover in a truly beautiful moment.
