L.A. group The Drives share their bittersweet new single ‘The Comedown’.
It’s been a while since we’ve shared The Drives on Velvet, going back to 2019’s ‘No More Romance’, and the L.A. natives melancholic indie rock continues with their latest offering. Sounding closer to The Strokes at their earliest, chunky guitars riffs are steady away as ‘The Comedown’ captures the energy of lighter days in the sun, capped with a heavier mood to balance things out. This pensiveness sits over The Drives as hindsight kicks in at the warning signs missed, however, now optimistic for a brighter future upon reflection, capturing that golden mark of indie songs that are made for every occasion.
