Released last month for women’s history month Talia Goddess’ (Tayahna Walcott) latest is a swift change from the upbeat reggaeton sound of ‘Never Wanna Fall’, now centralised around lo-fi, dream-pop beats that radiate vintage ’90s energy. Focused upon providing representation and safe spaces for queer black youth, ‘I’ll Be Down’s video focuses upon queer relationships as Talia navigates through the highs and lows of love, all the while gorgeously soothing guitar hooks loop throughout this stellar pop track.
