Soda Blonde share the next single from “Small Talk”, titled ‘In the Heat of the Night’.

Revelling in the disdain for another, ‘In the Heat of the Night’ captures the point when conflict overturns thought out words, instead, vying for the thrill of the fight instead. “The music possessed an attitude that I wasn’t familiar with as a songwriter”, explains Faye O’Rourke. “It deftly evoked the neon of night and brought Scorcese’s Casino to my mind. Our goal was to create a song that had everything we wanted to hear. It allowed me to write, uninhibited by the labour of self-analysis. It’s a song about conflict and getting a kick out of it. The thrill of the fight.”

Going from their usual shoegaze/pop style to a country-influenced sound on ‘In the Heat of the Night’, Soda Blonde sound as though they’ve just breathed the biggest sigh of joy ever.

“Small Talk” is out July 9th via Velveteen Records.
