Evan Isaac returns with his new single ‘Headed for the Sun’, following on from his 2020 album “Dogwood Dignitaries Listen to the Baby”.
The last time we checked in with Evan Isaac it was on his explosive single ‘Dark Room’. Now on his latest release, the New York-based artist, slows it all down for an introspective look at learning to love one’s self. With an ebb and flow of chilled energy gradually rising into uplifting crescendos, overflowing with a sense of euphoria from Isaac’s lyrics, ‘Headed for the Sun’ feels like a change in the wind. A shift from the mundane greyness that can take over from time to time, with effervescent rays of sunlight piercing through, Evan Isaac’s latest is a healthy dose of optimism for when you need it the most.
Speaking about his new single, Evan reveals: “This song began from a reversed organ track. A nice kick drum and percussive elements were then added. The mandolin line really made the track feel full. The lyrics are ultimately about the process of learning to love and respect yourself after experiencing many obstacles and knowing that the best lies ahead of you. Feeling at peace and love with everything. The track was mixed by Sidharth Gupta of Shoals who I collaborated on my last song with.”
