Irish artist Joel Johnston, aka Far Caspian, has today announced the release of his debut album “Ways to Get Out”, alongside the album’s lead single ‘Questions’, and upcoming tour dates.
Alongside the release of a ’90s styled dating video, ‘Questions’ is the first taste of new music from Far Caspian since last November with ‘Warning Sign’. Filled with swirling synth hooks and Johnston’s crooning vocals, it’s a familiar taste from Far Caspian but one that reminds us why they’re one of the internet’s favourite dream-poppers.
Recorded in Joel’s childhood home during 2020, “Ways to Get Out” captures the nostalgia of a naive youth mixed with the looming threat of adulthood and finding yourself. “Ways to Get Out is whatever the listener wants it to be,” Joel explains. “The album as a whole is about the things I came across in my twenties, but could be applied to any transitional period in life.”
“Ways to Get Out” is set for release on October 8th. Tour tickets go on sale this Friday, July 9th at 10am, available by clicking here. Far Caspian’s tour begins with UK dates in October followed by a European leg in Spring 2022.
