Turns out that Palm Honey, have some rather talented friends, known as The Amazons. If Chapel Club had collaborated with Eliza and the Bear on their debut Chapel, you could imagine it would have sounded about half as good as Something In The Water. Several variations of ambient panel tones open up this five-minute track; as guitar tones immersed in electronic tampering beckon to the call of the verses. Ambiguous lyrics cry out in the chorus with:
“If I close my eyes, and I fall asleep, will I think about you, will I dream about you”.
When combined with the assault of an interjection of popping, tropical rhythms; the joyous melodies take over, as almighty synths drown the quiet guitar tones. Once the track begins to reach its end, the melodies dry out for harmonious echoes to summon up the magic of alt-J’s Something Good closing.
