German group Floral Shop summon a sense of well developed passion and sensuality on their latest track ‘Anyplace’, a fiery late night burner.
Going all the way back to 2013, the sense of maturity and finesse felt across ‘Anyplace’ is no accident. Frontman Igor Franjić first penned the lyrics for ‘Anyplace’ when he began to “embrace the feelings involved with same-sex attraction”, now adapting ‘Anyplace’ to be more lyrically ambiguous, focusing on “how it feels to be forthright with your feelings”. Crossing the borders of post-punk and electronica, ‘Anyplace’ ventures into a realm of music that feels entirely all their own, utilising dark synth hooks with guitar riffs that have been floating around since before Floral Shop were even a thing. Traversing between dark and moody electronica to soaring post-punk/indie in a moments notice, ‘Anyplace’s lyrical maturity and auditory precision marks the German group as a force to be reckoned with.
